Arlo & RapidSOS join forces to improve emergency alerts

Today

Arlo Technologies has announced a partnership with RapidSOS to enhance emergency response protocols through AI-powered video verification.

This collaboration allows RapidSOS Safety Agents to access crucial information from Arlo users, offering real-time video confirmation of incidents. The initiative aims to decrease false alarms and improve response times in emergencies.

The video verification technology will provide Safety Agents with live footage from selected Arlo cameras, assisting in evaluating incidents before escalating them to 911. This process is designed to merge essential user details with visual evidence, enabling first responders to make informed decisions swiftly when providing assistance.

Arlo users will have the ability to alert Safety Agents with a single tap, who can then relay the information to 911. RapidSOS technology supports this process by transmitting critical data such as location profiles, access codes, and home details, ensuring responders are well-prepared upon arrival.

For those with Arlo's Home Security System, round-the-clock monitoring will be available. The system's sensors will alert Safety Agents who will use video verification to ascertain the legitimacy of the threat before notifying emergency services. This will minimise unnecessary deployments of emergency personnel and improve the accuracy of responses.

Matthew McRae, Chief Executive Officer of Arlo Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, "We are extremely excited to partner with RapidSOS to provide advanced emergency response capabilities such as video verification, providing first responders with the information they need to act fast and save lives. This partnership underscores Arlo's relentless innovation and deep commitment to user safety. Together with RapidSOS we will continue to develop cutting-edge features and services that further our position as the leader in the market."

RapidSOS itself is trusted by over 21,000 public safety agencies and has facilitated more than 600 million emergency responses. The company's HARMONY AI technology aims to optimise the 911 dispatch process by transforming raw data into actionable alerts. This collaboration with Arlo bolsters the Arlo Secure Premium feature, aimed at equipping users with smarter emergency responses.

Michael Martin, Chief Executive Officer of RapidSOS, remarked, "First responders do extraordinary work responding to hundreds of millions of emergencies annually. We are excited to see Arlo connecting millions of users directly to 911. When 911 receives an emergency call, accurate information is critical. By combining Arlo's video verification with RapidSOS's AI-assisted connection to public safety, first responders get the complete picture—allowing them to react quickly and appropriately to every situation."
