Cinchy launches PeriMind AI governance suite for firms

Cinchy has launched PeriMind, an AI governance suite for enterprise deployments aimed at organisations moving artificial intelligence from pilot projects into production.

The launch also introduces what Cinchy calls AI Action Governance: real-time oversight of how AI systems access data, interact with applications and carry out business actions.

PeriMind is positioned as a response to a problem many companies face as AI tools spread beyond experimentation. Businesses are adopting copilots, AI agents and automated workflows, but executives often lack a clear view of where those systems are used, what they can access, how much they cost and whether they operate within internal policy.

Cinchy says this creates an "AI trust gap" between the pace of adoption and the controls needed to manage it. As AI becomes embedded in day-to-day business processes, shadow AI, unclear accountability for resource use and limited operational oversight are becoming more pressing issues.

Operational focus

Rather than framing governance mainly around policy documents, frameworks or risk reviews, Cinchy is focusing on operational controls. It defines AI Action Governance as observing, governing and enforcing policy over AI behaviour in real time as systems interact with enterprise data and software.

That approach reflects a broader market shift as organisations seek ways to monitor AI after deployment, not just before implementation. For large companies, the challenge is increasingly tied to the day-to-day use of models and agents across existing business systems.

"Every major technology wave creates a new control point. Cloud created the need for cloud security; APIs created the need for API security, and AI is creating the need for AI Action Governance. The question is no longer whether organizations will adopt AI. The question is whether they can trust their AI platforms in full production," said J.Paul Haynes, chief executive officer of Cinchy.

Haynes added: "Business leaders need confidence that AI is operating within policy, interacting with enterprise systems responsibly and delivering value without introducing unnecessary risk or cost. We built PeriMind to become the operational governance layer that helps organizations trust AI."

According to Cinchy, the suite is intended to give companies more visibility into AI activity, help them manage shadow AI, track the operational cost of models and agents, govern access to enterprise data and applications, and support security, compliance and human oversight.

Trust gap

Cinchy argues that many AI projects no longer fail because of doubts about whether the technology can produce results. Instead, the barrier to scaling is whether management teams can see what the systems are doing and intervene when needed.

"Most organizations have already proven AI can deliver value," said Karanjot Jaswal, co-founder and CTO of Cinchy. "What's slowing adoption now isn't the technology. It's uncertainty. Leaders want to know where AI is being used, what it's accessing, what it's costing and whether it's operating inside the guardrails they've established. That's the trust gap PeriMind is designed to close."

Richard Stiennon, a cybersecurity industry analyst and chief executive officer at IT-Harvest, said the issue goes beyond conventional governance discussions. "Most discussions about AI governance focus on policies, frameworks and compliance," he said. "The larger challenge is operational governance. Organisations need to understand what AI is doing, what systems it is interacting with and whether those actions align with business policy. AI Action Governance addresses one of the most important gaps emerging as AI moves into production environments."

Data roots

PeriMind builds on the same principles used in Cinchy's existing Data Collaboration Platform, which is designed to govern how information is shared across enterprise environments. The company is known for data access and control and is now extending that position into AI oversight.

That link to data governance is central to Cinchy's pitch. AI systems often depend on access to multiple internal databases, applications and workflows, which can create risks if permissions, monitoring and policy enforcement are not handled consistently.

As more organisations put AI tools into customer service, internal operations, analysis and decision support, vendors are increasingly trying to define the control layers around them. Cinchy is seeking to position itself in that emerging category by focusing on runtime oversight rather than model development alone.

Cinchy said organisations worldwide already use its technology to govern information sharing across complex environments, and that PeriMind extends that model to AI systems interacting with enterprise data, applications and business processes.
