Cyacomb makes three hires to drive global expansion

Tue, 12th May 2026

Cyacomb has made three hires to support its global expansion as the Edinburgh company broadens its work with organisations and law enforcement agencies.

The new recruits are Chris Boon as Customer Success Manager, Damien Gauthier as International Sales Executive and Dana Feliciano as Sales Executive for North America. They join after the earlier appointment of Chris Johnson as chief executive officer and alongside the promotion of Alan McConnell from head of customer success to chief operations officer.

Cyacomb develops digital triage technology used to identify illegal and harmful material on devices. Its platform is used by law enforcement, border agencies and other organisations to detect child sexual abuse material through matching methods that do not require staff to view images or sensitive files.

The latest hires reflect rising demand for systems that help organisations identify offenders, protect victims and limit exposure to harmful material. Cyacomb has also been extending its commercial reach beyond the public sector, including through a partnership with the Internet Watch Foundation to offer its services to private sector customers.

New roles

Boon joins after nearly 15 years in UK policing. Since 2022, he has worked in the private technology sector, focusing on relationships with local and national law enforcement agencies.

Gauthier takes up an international sales role focused on bringing Cyacomb's products to more organisations in overseas markets. He brings experience in sales, account management and digital solutions across international territories.

Feliciano will lead work in North America as Cyacomb looks to broaden its footprint in the market. She has worked in software for public safety and has experience helping law enforcement and government agencies adopt investigative tools.

The appointments strengthen both customer support and sales as Cyacomb seeks to scale internationally. They also add operational and market experience in sectors where procurement is often shaped by compliance, privacy concerns and close scrutiny of how sensitive digital evidence is handled.

Growth push

Founded in Edinburgh in 2016, Cyacomb has positioned itself around the need to identify known illegal content while reducing unnecessary access to unrelated personal data. That pitch is aimed at agencies and organisations under pressure to respond to harmful material quickly without widening collateral intrusion.

Demand in this area has grown as investigators, safeguarding teams and digital forensics units face increasing volumes of devices and data. Tools that can narrow material for further action while limiting direct exposure to abusive content have become a more important part of digital investigations and internal risk processes.

Expansion in these markets often depends on a mix of direct sales, customer support and trusted relationships with law enforcement and public safety bodies. Cyacomb's latest hires suggest it is trying to strengthen all three at once, with one role focused on customer success and two on sales in international markets.

Johnson said the hires come at a significant point for the business as it seeks to widen its reach.

"We are delighted to welcome Chris, Damien and Dana to Cyacomb at such an important stage in our growth journey. Each of them brings valuable experience across public safety, law enforcement engagement and technology, which will help us continue expanding our reach globally.

"As organisations and law enforcement agencies face growing pressure to identify and respond to harmful and illegal material quickly and responsibly, demand for trusted and privacy-first technology continues to grow. These appointments strengthen our ability to support customers, build new partnerships and continue delivering technology that helps make the digital world safer."
