Genetec launches Cloudrunner Mobile to boost field vehicle data
Genetec has released Cloudrunner Mobile, an application designed to give law enforcement and security professionals immediate access to vehicle data and alerts while operating in the field.
The new app acts as a companion to the company's Cloudrunner vehicle-centric investigation platform, aiming to provide users with improved efficiency in gathering and responding to vehicle-related intelligence on the move.
Mobile investigation
Cloudrunner Mobile allows users to securely log in with biometric authentication and perform vehicle searches directly from their mobile devices.
Users can search for vehicles using details such as make, model, colour, or plate number, and filter results based on geographic parameters relative to their current location. The app enables access to real-time alerts and hotlists, which can assist in focusing investigations and prioritising responses when on patrol or attending incidents.
Real-time intelligence
The Cloudrunner system combines automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) and analytics to capture and organise vehicle data.
This enables users to generate evidence, correlate information across multiple data points, and conduct more efficient searches. The cloud-based storage of information allows authorised users to securely manage, filter, and export relevant vehicle-related data as needed.
The app's design enables law enforcement officers and security teams to receive instant hotlist notifications through push alerts. These notifications include details such as plate numbers, states, and alert categories. When users are not on duty, they can pause notifications and review recent activities within the alerts tab of the app at a convenient time.
Privacy features
Genetec states that Cloudrunner Mobile, like the broader Cloudrunner platform, is built on privacy-by-design principles. Vehicle information is encrypted, access-controlled, and retained according to organisational policies.
Users maintain ownership of their data throughout its lifecycle in the system.
