ReliaQuest has appointed Krish Venkataraman as Chief Financial Officer, with the executive set to lead the company's global finance and accounting organisation.

Venkataraman will join the cybersecurity company on October 5. His responsibilities will include supporting the company's financial operations as it enters its next phase of growth.

Executive experience

Venkataraman brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across cybersecurity, enterprise technology and financial services.

He has held President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer roles at public and private companies. His experience includes supporting companies through growth periods and strategic and capital-markets milestones.

At KnowBe4, Venkataraman served as Co-President and CFO. During his tenure, he helped scale the company from approximately USD $10 million in annual recurring revenue to approximately USD $300 million.

He also helped take KnowBe4 public on Nasdaq in 2021.

Before joining ReliaQuest, Venkataraman was CFO at Solink, an AI technology company.

He previously served as President of Dataiku and CFO of Socure. His earlier career included leadership roles at Dealogic, Syncsort, NYSE Euronext, Lehman Brothers, American Express and Deloitte.

Finance leadership

"Krish understands and has a deep appreciation for the problem we solve in AI and cybersecurity," said Brian Murphy, Founder and CEO, ReliaQuest. "His experience leading public and private technology companies, combined with his finance and technology background, will build on our already strong team and support our growth as we help more organizations defend against AI-accelerated threats."

Venkataraman's appointment comes as cybersecurity companies continue to address security risks associated with the adoption of artificial intelligence.

His background spans both financial management and technology companies operating in AI, cybersecurity and enterprise software.

Venkataraman said the cybersecurity challenges facing organisations were a key factor in his decision to join ReliaQuest.

"ReliaQuest is addressing one of the most important challenges facing organizations today: how security teams can keep pace with increasingly sophisticated and AI-accelerated threats," said Venkataraman. "What attracted me to ReliaQuest is the combination of a critical customer problem, differentiated technology and a clear opportunity to redefine how organizations operate their security programs. GreyMatter brings together the technologies security teams already rely on with agentic AI to help them detect, investigate, and respond more effectively. I'm excited to join the ReliaQuest team and help build on the company's momentum and expand its impact globally."

GreyMatter platform

Venkataraman will oversee finance as ReliaQuest continues developing GreyMatter, its cybersecurity platform.

The platform is designed to allow security teams to detect threats, investigate incidents, execute responses and conduct threat hunting across their technology environments using natural language.

GreyMatter includes capabilities intended to normalise telemetry across different technology vendors without requiring data centralisation.

Its detection capabilities are designed to identify threats at the source, in storage or while data is in transit. The platform also uses agentic orchestration to coordinate AI systems and other security technologies.

ReliaQuest said its AI Model Broker selects models for individual tasks based on factors including speed, cost and accuracy.

Education

Venkataraman holds an MBA from Cornell University's S.C. Johnson College of Business and a bachelor's degree in finance from Carnegie Mellon University.

He also serves as a board member and adviser to companies operating across cybersecurity, AI and enterprise technology.

"I'm excited to join the ReliaQuest team and help build on the company's momentum and expand its impact globally," said Venkataraman.
