SOTI has released version 2026.1 of its SOTI ONE platform, with updates focused on automation, troubleshooting and security for shared mobile devices used by frontline workers.

The release spans several products in its mobility management portfolio, including SOTI ONE Lockdown, SOTI MobiControl, SOTI XSight, SOTI Snap and SOTI Connect. The updates are intended to reduce device downtime and ease the operational burden on IT teams managing fleets across retail, transport and logistics, healthcare and field services.

Shared devices

A central part of the release is an update to SOTI ONE Lockdown for shared-device environments. The software now lets the next user log out of a previous session directly from the unlock screen, avoiding full device restarts between shifts and reducing support requests.

SOTI has also added more authentication options for these environments. Users can now sign in with a PIN, near-field communication, or a combination of NFC and PIN, giving organisations more ways to set access rules for devices shared by multiple workers during the day.

This is particularly relevant in workplaces where handheld devices are used continuously. In retail, the update is designed to speed up shift changes and protect point-of-sale and inventory data. In transport and logistics, it is intended to keep warehouse and delivery workflows moving. In healthcare, it is meant to support rapid access to shared devices while maintaining controls over patient-related information.

Management tools

The latest MobiControl release expands automation and monitoring across Android, Apple and Windows devices. On Android, IT teams can track custom device states and trigger automated policy actions, helping organisations address compliance issues and carry out self-healing steps without manual intervention.

On Windows, the update adds real-time issue detection, along with centralised firmware and patch management. It also integrates with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, extending security visibility for organisations that use Microsoft's endpoint protection tools.

Apple device management has also been updated. Device migration can now take place without disrupting users, while account-driven enrolment has been added and SOTI VPN support extended to macOS.

Support changes

SOTI XSight, the company's diagnostic and support product, now includes new public API integrations for external IT service management platforms. This allows organisations to connect service tickets to live troubleshooting sessions and return details from those sessions to incident records.

The release also adds support features including file sharing, chat recording and archiving, keyboard shortcuts, and more advanced mouse and touch interactions. These changes are intended to give IT teams a more direct way to support users remotely across different device types.

Frontline communications are also part of the latest release cycle. SOTI Snap now lets organisations schedule and automate announcements so messages reach staff at a defined time, a feature aimed at reminders, event notifications and urgent operational updates.

Administrators can also now trigger MobiControl actions from every widget in SOTI Snap. This means device actions can be launched directly from the interface, with dashboards tailored to specific workflows.

Operational insight

SOTI Connect, which focuses on device visibility, now includes computed custom attributes designed to turn raw device data into operational metrics that are easier to interpret. New dashboard widgets, including compliance tables, have also been added to present status information in a more immediate format.

The release also extends support for Linux-based protocol adapters, covering Ubuntu, Debian and Raspberry Pi. This broadens the range of environments in which organisations can manage connected devices through the platform.

SOTI says it serves more than 17,000 customers globally. It presents the latest update as a response to persistent operational issues that can grow into larger costs when devices are misconfigured, sessions stall, or support teams repeatedly apply manual fixes.

Shash Anand, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at SOTI, commented on the update.

"In many organizations, mobile disruptions don't come from one major failure - they come from small, repeat issues like misconfigured devices, stalled sessions or manual fixes that escalate into downtime and ultimately hidden costs," said Shash Anand, Senior Vice President of Product Strategy at SOTI. "With the recent updates to SOTI ONE, we're addressing those challenges at the source by automating issue detection and recovery, strengthening security across shared devices and removing friction from frontline access. The result is fewer interruptions, faster resolution, greater visibility across device fleets and less reliance on IT, keeping teams productive, no matter how fast environments change."
